The North Branford Rotary Club sponsored the annual senior picnic in town on August 4, 2007. This year, a record number of seniors attended the event. A fun time was had by all, according to Pam Gery, the Director of Recreations for the town.

Over 300 seniors attended the annual picnic sponsored by the North Branford Rotary Club. The event, organized by the town's Parks and Recreations Department, has grown each year. "We look upon this as the real start of our summer concert season" said one veteran picnic-er as he munched on hisÃ' hamburger and sipped on his iced tea. SeniorsÃ' enjoyed hamburgers,Ã' hot dogs,Ã' cold beveragesÃ' and watermelon donated by the Rotary Club and prepared by members and other volunteers.

Although the afternoon started hot, it quickly cooled to the sounds of Vinnie Carr, a local fovorite. The evening's entertainment was organized and provided by the town's Parks and Recreations Department. "You can have your rappers. I'll take Vinnie any day of the week" said another senior as she enjoyed her fruit.
