The North Branford Rotary Club sponsored the annual senior picnic in town on July 10, 2008. This year, a record number of seniors attended the event.

"It was a great success" Pam Gery, Director of Recreations.

Over 350 seniors attended the annual picnic sponsored by the North Branford Rotary Club. The event, organized by the town's Parks and Recreations Department, has grown each year. Despite the heat, many seniors view this event as their start of summer.

"We look forward to this picnic where we get good food, good fellowship and good music" said one veteran picnic-er as he munched on his watermelon slce.

"It is a wonderful thing you Rotary people do" said another perennial picnic-er as she sat in the shade fanning herself and enjoying a slice of cake.

Seniors enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, cold beverages and watermelon donated by the Rotary Club and prepared by members and other volunteers.
